BUTT LIFT/ AUGMENTATION
A traditional Butt Lift is a surgical procedure that removes excess skin and fat above the buttocks along the waistline to physically lift the Buttocks for improved shape and contour. A Brazilian Butt Lift is a surgical procedure that uses a combination of Liposuction and Fat Grafting to shape the buttocks and improve the contour, but no skin is removed.
Who is a good candidate for a Traditional Butt Lift vs a Brazilian Butt Lift?
Patients who are good candidates for Brazilian Butt Lift (Fat grafting and Liposuction only) include those who have flattened, hollowed out buttocks with poor shape but do not have significant excess skin along the waistline and upper buttocks that must be excised.
Good candidates for a Traditional Butt Lift are those who have a significant amount of loose skin along the waistline above the buttocks in addition to a flattened, hollowed out buttocks. A Traditional Buttock Lift is often paired with fat transfer (aka Brazilian Butt Lift) as well as a Tummy Tuck. When a Tummy Tuck and Buttock Lift are done together, this is known as an Extended Tummy Tuck. Excess skin will be removed, which will help lift the buttocks, and further shaping can be done with Fat Grafting and Liposuction techniques similar to a Brazilian Butt Lift if the patient desires more volume.
What should a patient expect during and after a Butt lift or Brazilian Butt Lift?
Patients will have compression garments in areas of Liposuction. There will be certain sitting precautions to prevent sitting too long on areas of incisions or fat grafting for extended periods.
What results can a patient expect from a Buttock Lift?
Patients can expect to have significant improvement in the contour and shape of their buttocks following either procedure. If skin resection is necessary, there will be a scar along the waistline.
